Wow its been quite a while since i've uploaded anything to my account, but here is my first completed project in a while. This is my costume that I made to go to a MLP convention called Trotcon, It is my idea of what Rarity might wear to a future gala. I entered into the cosplay contest and received Best In Show!!!!! I was so happy and nearly started crying my eyes out as I went up to accept the award for winning. The certificate was presented to me by Dave Polsky who is a writer for the series and in addition to the certificate saying that I won he also gave me a officially licensed Hasbro plushie of pinkie pie 
. It made all the finger cramping and headaches from making this outfit totally worth it!! Details of the outfit such as the cutie mark were hand embroidered on it and I also hand sewed the swarovski crystals onto the corset part of the over dress. The only parts that I used a pattern for was the skirt of the overdress and under-dress so that I could make sure that they hung correctly and were proportioned correctly as well, I also used one for the base of the jacket but originally it was supposed to come together in the center with a clasp but instead I rounded it out and added on the ruffle. Other than those 2 parts the rest of it came directly from the pattern in my head.
Total work time- estimated 3 month
number of hand sewn beads- 783
times i wanted to throw in the towel and give up- i lost count
number of times i jabbed myself with a needle - lost count there too
end result- totally worth it all

Well done! You certainly deserved Best in Show with a Rarity of such high quality! If the Mirror/Statue Base between worlds were real, I'd say you were Rarity come through. This is exactly how I'd picture her if she were human. Bravo! ...Brava? (I don't remember the difference!
